Nearly 12 million people in Texas have been told to boil tap water before consuming it after a deadly winter storm has caused power blackouts at treatment facilities. The state’s energy grid has been overwhelmed by a surge in demand as people try to keep warm in some of the coldest temperatures there in more than 30 years.
Over 13 million people – close to half of the state’s population – have faced some disruption of water services. “boil water notice” has been issued for the city of Houston and surrounding areas, with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advising that all water planned for consumption – even if filtered – must be boiled to kill disease-causing organisms, including viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
Over 500 public water systems are under boil water notice according to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, has urged those without power – and unable to boil tap water – to try to obtain bottled water wherever possible.
Waterworld USA wishes safety and wellness for all Texans. Similar to the emergency boiler water notice, our everyday reverse osmosis filtration solutions remove herbicides, pesticides, and contaminants, as today landfills are overridden with millions of water bottles that take years to break down. We help with utility grade, working grade and food grade water for your home or business.
Reverse osmosis purification makes the process of water filtration and waste reduction significantly more efficient. One major environmentally conscious perk is that it eliminates the need for buying bottled water. Today landfills are overridden with millions of water bottles that take years to break down.
